The story
Five vintage Wedgwood Wellesley dinner plates in a soft cream glaze, with a raised rim of fruit and flower clusters linked by rope swags, between a beaded inner edge and an oval-bead border. Backstamped "Wellesley, Wedgwood, Made in England." Sold as a set of 5.
Condition: one plate has a chip about 3/4" wide on the outer edge of the rim (see the close-up, photo 8). Small grey/brown specks and marks in the centre and along the inner beaded edge of at least one plate (photo 7). Heavy grey/dark age spotting and staining on the backs of some plates (photos 5 and 9), and crazing in the glaze. Please look at the photos carefully.
Styling ideas: a cream-on-cream holiday table, a plate wall, display on plate stands on a hutch, or mix with white ironstone.
Approx. 10 1/4" across.
