The story
Four Japanese blue-and-white porcelain bowls, sold together as a set: two larger, approx. 5 1/2" across, and two smaller, approx. 4 1/4" across. Each has a paneled, eight-sided rim painted with scrolling vines, a diagonal-hatch band around the well and a hand-painted sprig in the center. Each is marked on the base in blue underglaze Japanese characters (two different marks between the four; see the last photo). Nice for rice, dipping sauces, snacks or a little dessert, or stacked on an open shelf. Vase and flowers not included (shown for display only).
