Vintage Johnson Bros Willow Blue Bread & Butter Plates, Set of 4, England, Approx. 6 1/4 in.

A set of 4 Johnson Bros "Willow Blue" bread and butter plates, made in England in earthenware. They have the classic blue and white Willow pattern: the pagoda, the bridge with figures, the boat, the willow tree and the two lovebirds, framed by the traditional fretwork and scroll border. Backstamped "Johnson Bros England 1883, Earthenware, Dishwasher, Freezer and Microwave Safe" (a later 20th-century mark). Sold together as a set of 4.

Condition: A couple of tiny brown specks on the foot ring on the back of one plate, just below the backstamp (see photo 3).

Styling ideas: use them for bread, dessert or cookies at tea time, stand them in a plate rack on an open shelf, or mix them into a blue and white plate wall.

Each approx. 6 1/4" across.
