The story
A blue-and-white rimmed soup bowl in Royal China's classic Currier & Ives pattern, showing the "Early Winter" scene: skaters on a frozen pond beside a snowy farmhouse and bare winter trees. The wide rim carries the pattern's signature scrolled border and beaded edge. Backstamped "Currier & Ives, Early Winter, Underglaze Print by Royal, Made in U.S.A." About 8 1/2" across; good vintage condition. A cozy piece for winter tables or to fill out a Currier & Ives set.
