The story

A pair of vintage Laveno Italy rimmed soup plates with a brown transfer chinoiserie scene: pagodas, a figure with a parasol, garden pavilions and flowering trees, all on a scalloped edge. Backstamped Laveno Italy, "one of the finest dinnerware made in all Europe... since 1856", Pat Pending U.S.A. Sold as a set of 2.

Condition: a few small grey marks, most likely stacking marks, on the underside of one plate's rim (see the close-up, photo 4). No chips seen on the scalloped rims. Please look at the photos carefully.

Styling ideas: serve soup or pasta, hang them as a pair on the wall, display on plate stands on a hutch, or mix with other brown transferware.

Approx. 8 1/4" across each.

Vase and flowers not included (shown for display only). Local pickup only.
