The story

An antique English gravy boat in white ironstone with a dark grey/black floral vine transfer in the "Fairy" pattern, a scalloped rim, a shaped handle with black accents, and little scrolled feet. Backstamped "W.H. & Co. FAIRY HANLEY ENGLAND" in a floral wreath, from the Staffordshire Potteries in the 1890s.

Condition: crazing inside the bowl with light brown staining in the crazing at the bottom of the bowl, a few small brown spots, and light brown discoloration along parts of the rim; most of the earlier staining has been cleaned off (see the close-up, photo 3). Crazing with light brown staining on the underside and feet (photo 4). No chips or cracks seen. Please look at the photos carefully.

Styling ideas: use it on the holiday table, fill it with a small bunch of flowers, or display it with other black and white transferware.

Approx. 8 3/4" long, spout to handle.

Vase and flowers not included (shown for display only). Item #A135
