Gzhel Hand-Painted Cobalt Porcelain Footed Ewer — Russian Pilgrim-Flask Pitcher, 9 1/2" (Lid Missing)
$30
The story
A whimsical Russian Gzhel ewer, hand-painted in cobalt blue on white porcelain. The round, flat pilgrim-flask body carries a big painted flower medallion inside a rope border on each side, with a curving spout, a scrolled handle and four little feet. Made to hold a lid, which is missing — it still makes a striking pitcher, vase or shelf piece with other blue and white.
